We are seeking to launch a new program that will extend the proven benefits of the Adaptive Ski Program to other clientele who could benefit from the skiing experience but don't meet the specific requirements of that great program. We expect that this program will serve as a model that can be duplicated at any locality served by a ski area around the state and nation.

For our first year pilot program we hope to provide a skiing experience to 20 dyads consisting of an "at risk" youth paired up with their adult professional helper, initially home or local group home placed juvenile offenders in conjuction with their juvenile probation officer and/or youth clients of CYFD Protective Services with their social worker. We are seeking funding of $3500 to launch this pilot. With all our management services provided by volunteers, that amount of funding will provide each dyad with one day of rental equipment, group lessons, and free skiing on the beginner lift. Greater funding would allow us to offer a second ski day to the dyads, while less than budgeted funding would allow for less dyads. All our administrative labor will be donated and we are seeking additional funds to cover administrative overhead.
